HoloThink Review: It’s About How You Think

4 December 2009 No Comment

In the last decade, brain science has taken huge leaps forward, and now many researchers believe that our mental and physical health is affected by certain sound frequencies.  How sound waves affect the brain is called by different names, including “neurotechnology,” “entrainment,” and “Binaural Effect,” each of them being employed for things that range from diagnosing illness, to conquering phobias, anxiety and panic disorder..  HoloThink is an audio program based on the premise of simply listening.  That’s right – listening is all you have to do.

Spa Music Expands
Subliminal messages are those things you cannot hear, but that your brain absorbs anyway, and that’s just one example of the amazing feats the electrical activity between your ears and your brain are constantly working.  Rooted in science, this isn’t just some Twilight Zone hocus-pocus.  Think for a minute of what “EEG” stands for – electroencephalography, there’s a reason for the “electro” in there.  Nowadays, hospitals are using audio-therapy not just in step-down units, but for recovering patients from major illnesses, trauma and surgery, and are embracing a holistic or whole-body approach into treatments.  During therapy, many rehabilitation facilities are using relaxation audio for therapy.

Built-in speakers in specially designed sound tables are just one way that scientists and medical professionals have taken this to the next level.

When someone lies on the table and listens to certain music and sound frequencies, they get in tune with their own, individual frequency, and this technology is actually being used to help ease the effects of chronic pain, thereby eliminating the need for certain medical procedures that have been provided by specialized anesthesiologists in the form of pain management through the years, most of which includes shots of cortisone, steroids, and goodness knows what else.  (This is especially comforting for those people who are not real happy about being poked with needles.)

This is an accepted science, as evidenced by the fact that in August 2008, the Cleveland Clinic and the Cleveland Orchestra teamed up for a study of how music affects the brain.  Applying this theory makes a whole lot of sense when you consider that music already affects us profoundly, which is why some people find themselves  moved to tears during the opera.  HoloThink does precisely this.

Understanding the Program
Sixty-minutes of audio is the core of HoloThink, which imparts tranquility just by listening.  Even if you are not one for classical music or popular “spa music”; even if you prefer rap to country, and rock and roll to the blues, you can listen to this stuff.  If you don’t think you can, give the ten-minute free trial a spin and see how refreshed you feel after listening.  The HoloThink audio files can be downloaded immediately, and they work immediately.  This is a versatile treatment option – you can listen at home or in your car, or can give yourself a quick attitude adjustment at work by slipping on your headphones for ten minutes or so.

Before investing the small sum of .00 for the whole program, I just had to try the ten-minute demo.  It reminded me a lot of the very soothing and tranquil music played during massage and spa treatments that I’ve had.  It was so easy to close my eyes and get rid of my stress in just those ten minutes, that I was eager to see what sixty-minutes could do for me.  The website likens the experience to a “mental bath” and that seems fairly accurate; it is very refreshing.

It’s interesting that while your brain works to synchronize the left and right input of the sounds on the audio file, it makes you hear things that are not really on the file, but are coming from inside your own brain.  Rolling thunder and waves crashing are not part of the audio, but you may be able to hear them (I did), which only reinforces what a strong influence sound has on our brains.

What Benefit Will I Derive?
In your efforts to treat and/or cure your generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder or phobia, you should consider using HoloThink, even though it doesn’t claim to cure any of that.  This program can be a great addition to any regimen of breathing and relaxation exercises, and is easily incorporated into both.  You, too will be amazed and inspired once you feel for yourself the level of tranquility you can achieve with these audio files.

While you work to de-stress by doing breathing or relaxation exercises, incorporate this program for the recommended twenty to thirty minutes every day.  If you fight stress with a warm bath, try adding low lights or candles and the HoloThink track to complete the relaxation experience.

This audio program can also be used to ward off anxiety and panic attacks when carried on your iPOD, iPhone, MP3, or other transportable music device.  If you can avoid a thirty-minute panic or anxiety attack by listening to this program for just ten minutes, what would you do?  One of the primary benefits is that you can listen no matter where you are and all you need is the device and the headphones to do it.  Maybe you frequently find yourself overly stressed by lunchtime during your work-day, and if so, just plug in and listen.  If you want to return to your workstation refreshed, reenergized, and ready to face the rest of your day, that’s all you have to do.

Anyone who can hear can be helped by HoloThink.  The price is the equivalent of two unhealthy fast food meals (bad for you anyway), and the return on investment is remarkable.  Incorporating this program into your personalized program for beating panic and anxiety is a must.
